| Although members of
West Point Rescue are volunteers, all members are required to be
certified as Emergency Medical Technicians by the Nebraska Department of
Health - the same as EMTs in non-volunteer services.
Initial training requires
successful completion of a 128 hour EMT-Basic Course and CPR Provider
Certification. Some other specialized skills such as automated
defibrillator training require additional training. Thirty hours
of continuing education is required every 3 years to maintain state EMT
certification. |
