The City of West Point, Neb., has an opening for a full-time water/wastewater maintenance employee to assist with the City’s Water / Wastewater Department, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. and weekend on call rotation. Duties include but are not limited to assisting the Water and Wastewater Departments with projects and operations. The Employee will aid in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the city water and sewer systems, including but not limited to the City’s water pumps, wells, tanks, water treatment facilities, and related equipment. The position will perform duties relating to water / wastewater quality, including water / wastewater quality sampling to ensure the system complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Operating a variety of equipment including but not limited to loader and skid steer. Candidates must be able to use verbal and written directions, work safely, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. The position may also assist other departments as necessary.  On-the-job training will be provided. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history, be physically able to perform manual labor, safely lift 50 lbs. without assistance, and safely perform repetitive physical tasks. Applicant must enjoy working outdoors in all weather. Water Operations and Wastewater Operations Certification will be required within 6 months. Starting hourly rate $25.06-$30.43 Competitive benefit package including health insurance, vacation and sick leave. Position will remain open until filled.
