Senior Center

The The Sunshine Center, Inc. has built a center for all of their current services. Partial funding is provided by the Northeast NE Area Agency on Aging, the City of West Point, fund-raising events and private donations. Sunshine Center participants Transportation is now available for doctor visits, hair appointments, visiting someone in the hospital, and to and from the center. Hours are limited to Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays so call ahead to schedule your trip at (402)372-3800.

Services available to the public are: Nutritious meals, free blood pressure screening, free blood sugar screening, foot care clinic, flu immunization, cholesterol & melanoma screenings, information & referral, insurance counseling, tax assistance, and friendly visitor & telephone reassurance. Educational activities include: lunch & learn, special programs, printed materials, GED classes, and computer available for use. Physical activities include: exercise classes and pool tables. Social activities include: bingo, dominoes, bus trips, monthly birthday/anniversary party, cards, crafts, and musical entertainment. Sunshine Center is selling cookbooks for $15 per book.
